About

The Data Project

Madtown Data Project is an independent research initiative dedicated to collecting, analyzing, and publishing information from public records, official statistics, and other verifiable sources. Our mission is to make complex public information more accessible, understandable, and useful for residents, policymakers, journalists, and community leaders throughout California’s Central Valley.

Madtown Data Project does not endorse political parties, candidates, or ideological organizations. We are committed to transparent methods, verifiable sources, and evidence-based analysis. Whenever possible, we provide the underlying data, methodology, and source documents so readers can evaluate the evidence and draw their own conclusions.

Madtown Data Project is independently operated and receives no funding from government agencies, political organizations, advocacy groups, corporations, or special interest organizations. Research activities are conducted without external influence or financial sponsorship.

Madtown Data Founder

Madtown Data Project was founded by Lauren “Lou” Garrison, an independent researcher with a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and a passion for making public information more accessible and understandable.

Professionally, Lou has built a diverse career spanning research, communications, graphic design, and small business ownership. Today, she owns and operates two successful businesses specializing in monument-making and graphic communications—professions where precision, attention to detail, and thoughtful problem-solving are essential.

Driven by a lifelong curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning, Lou enjoys examining public records, analyzing data, and identifying meaningful trends. Madtown Data Project was created from the belief that government information should be understandable, verifiable, and accessible to everyone—not just researchers and policymakers.

Rather than advocating for predetermined conclusions, Madtown Data Project is committed to transparent methods, verifiable sources, and evidence-based analysis. Lou is committed to providing readers with the information they need to evaluate the evidence and draw their own informed conclusions.
